Municipal Recycling Services

MunicipalBayshore Recycling is proud to offer recycling services to assist the municipal communities in New Jersey. Our goal is to make recycling easy to assist municipalities in achieving increased recycling rates while promoting a greener, more sustainable future for all. We believe the key to municipal recycling success is making essential services accessible and simple to residents, businesses and institutions.  New Jersey was the first State in the country to require mandatory recycling some 30 years ago in 1977 and continues to have some of the most successful recycling rates in the US.  All the materials that are accepted at the Bayshore facility are weighed and tracked in our scale database program, and then reported back to each municipality annually, or as requested.  Please see below for our services that help achieve municipal recycling goals:

Bayshore Single Stream Solutions Municipal Recycling Center

Bayshore Single Stream Solutions (BS3) operates a “Class A recycling facility” for the acceptance and processing of the materials that residents place at the curb, both duel stream (two bins at the curb) and single stream (one bin). The state-of-the-art fully mechanized facility accepts: aluminum cans; glass bottles and jars; steel and tin cans; #1 – #7 plastics including plastic milk, water, soda and laundry bottles; newspaper; corrugated cardboard; textiles, and mixed paper (magazines, office paper, junk mail).  Everything that comes to us is processed and separated by machines and highly trained technicians, bailed and sent off to market. Bayshore contracts directly with municipalities or the hauler for the acceptance of curbside recyclables.

Bayshore Recycling Corp

Bayshore Recycling Corp is a Class B recycling facility for the acceptance of source separated materials such as:  clean concrete, asphalt, brick, block, petroleum contaminated soils, glass cullet, clean wood, potable water treatment plant residuals, carbon filtration media, street sweepings, and slag.  Materials are recycled into various products including RCA, ¾”, 1 ½”, or 2 ½” recycled stone, fill materials and other aggregates based on project needs.

Coastal Metal Recycling Corp

At Bayshore Recycling, we offer scrap metal recycling for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Coastal Metal Recycling Corp (CMRC) is conveniently located at the Bayshore facility, where we pay market value for your scrap.  CMRC accepts different types of scrap metal from construction sites, businesses and residences across New Jersey and the surrounding area. Metals can be accepted in a co-mingled fashion, or separated by type (ferrous and non-ferrous).  We also offer container services for transportation of scrap metal from your project.

Montecalvo Material Recovery Facility

Montecalvo Material Recovery Facility (MMRF) is committed to providing a range of services that are both convenient and environmentally responsible to help towns maximize their recycling. While approved as a solid waste material recovery facility / transfer station, MMRF operates with the exclusive goal of recovering as many materials for recycling as possible through a combination of mechanical size separation and recovery by highly trained technicians.    We also offer dumpsters through Montecalvo Disposal Services, a licensed A-901 hauler for transportation of solid waste or recyclables.

Acceptable materials include:

  • Type 13 – bulky waste – such as appliances and furniture
  • Type 13C – construction and demolition debris – wood, masonry, plaster, wallboard, cardboard, paper, plastic, metals, etc.
  • Type-27 – dry industrial waste –impacted soils, contaminated concrete, spill cleanup waste, materials resulting from manufacturing, industrial and R&D processes/ operations

Rewards for Municipal Recycling

In New Jersey, municipalities get rewarded for their documented recycling through the “Municipal Tonnage Grants Program.”  A State tax of $3.00 per ton of solid waste disposed is collected and then grants are given back to eligible towns based on how much material they recycle.  Bayshore meticulously weighs each truck of recycled material received at the facility, and reports this information back each year to ensure that each municipality gets full credit for their recycled tonnage and maximum Municipal Tonnage Grant checks.
