Environmental Compliance Associate

The Bayshore Family of Companies is seeking a motivated, reliable, and well-organized Compliance Associate to assist with ensuring environmental compliance with NJDEP approvals and permits for recyclable materials accepted at the Class B facility in Woodbridge Township.  The position encompasses all aspects of day-to-day review, due diligence and approvals for the receiving of soil into Bayshore Soil Management and clean materials into the Class B facility. Individual should be a self-starter with attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a focus on client service.  

 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain compliance with NJDEP Approvals & Permits for material acceptance
  • Review soil applications for approval including: due diligence of available site information, analytical test results, relevant environmental reports (RIR/RAWP/Phase 1/Phase 2), in order to determine acceptance of materials for recycling
  • Coordination of review projects with Compliance Managers, sales and upper management
  • Provide Customer Service to Contractors, Consultants, etc. by explaining testing requirements, material acceptability, procedures for material acceptance and assisting in other project related inquiries
  • Maintain database with project information and required record keeping information
  • Maintain inbound compliance by keeping track of all sampling requirements for each project in coordination with Compliance personnel, and facilitate supplemental sampling program
  • Assist in the documentation and communication for any non-conforming materials received
  • Assist in other Facility Compliance Related Tasks such as permit reporting, permit applications, and regulatory updates

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education / Background in Environmental Science or related field
  • Applicant must be a team player, work well under pressure and have strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills a must
  • 0 – 5 years of experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience in environmental or construction related industries a plus
