Valerie Montecalvo conceived and built Bayshore Recycling Corp now considered one of the most dynamic and most vertically-integrated recycling facilities in the United States.  Bayshore was selected as the National Recycling Facility of the year in 2007 by the CMRA (Construction Materials Recycling Association). Considered an authority in biomass feed stocks and emerging bio-energy technologies, Valerie is in the final stages of evaluating several renewable energy technologies to implement at the Bayshore Eco-Complex/Energy Campus.   
 
As national Vice President for the CMRA, Valerie was recently invited to Washington to lend her expertise and provide comments on Construction and Demolition recycling to the USEPA. In collaboration with the NJDOT and NJDEP, Valerie spearheaded a public/private partnership with Rutgers University to study and implement the use of crumb rubber in roads, remediation of contaminated dredge sediments and other construction materials.  She is currently First Vice-Chairperson and has served on the Middlesex County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) for the past 12 years. 
 
Considered a leader in the environmental/recycling industry, Valerie has been an invited speaker, panelist and moderator for numerous symposiums and events for the “Going Green” campaign across New Jersey.  She has been a panel speaker for the CIANJ Women of Influence and for the 2010 20th NJ Governor’s Conference for Women. This year, Valerie serves on the Steering Committee for the 2011 Governor’s Conference. 
 

Valerie is a dedicated environmentalist who champions and supports Clean Ocean Action, Edison Wetlands Association, the Sustainable Raritan River as well as many other deserving local and national charities, foundations and causes. Bayshore was named the Corporate Citizen of the Year 2009 by the American Conference for Diversity. Valerie was recently a finalist for NJBIZ Executive of the Year for 2009 and for 2010 as NJBIZ Business of the Year.   Bayshore was just awarded the Outstanding Green Business of the Year for 2010 by the Edison Chamber of Commerce. She was also named as a 2011 Women of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey.
