In 2008, Bayshore Recycling Corp’s installation of the largest photovoltaic system in the recycling industry was completed, providing sustainable, non-polluting power to Bayshore’s Eco-Complex and Energy Campus.
This 679 killowatt (9,365 panel) system is part of a much larger plan, as the company is actively taking steps to become the most diverse Energy Campus on the East Coast of the United States. Plans are underway to create a diverse campus of green businesses that use each others’ manufactured product to advance the latest construction recycling technologies.
A total of 9,365 solar panels are now installed on roofs at Bayshore’s Eco-Complex and Energy Campus; each will generate 200 watts of power by converting the sun’s rays into clean energy. The massive system now powers a majority of the company’s operations, including concrete recycling, asphalt recycling, and brick recycling efforts.
