LEED Project Certification
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measureable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. Projects can earn LEED credits by utilizing services offered at the Energy Campus recycling facility, such as:
Materials & Resources: Solid Waste Management
Construction Waste Management, Divert 50% from Disposal and/or Construction Waste Management, Divert 75% from Disposal: Your project can earn 2 LEED points by utilizing Montecalvo Disposal Services Material Recovery Facility which recycles 75% to 85% of the material received for LEED based projects. MDS staff ensure that these valuable resources avoid being landfilled and are reintroduced back into the manufacturing process.
Waste Stream Audit: We will conduct a comprehensive analysis of your facility's ongoing consumable waste streams and work with you to identify the greatest opportunities for increased reuse and diversion.
Ongoing Consumables: We can establish and expand waste reduction and recycling programs for materials that are regularly used and replaced during the course of business, such as plastics, paper, toner cartridges, and batteries.
Durable Goods: We will develop waste reduction, reuse and recycling measures for durable goods such as computers, copiers and refrigerators to lessen the strain on local landfills and the environment.
Facility Alterations and Additions: We can help you find ways to divert C&D waste from landfills and incineration facilities and redirect the reusable materials back to the manufacturing process or to appropriate sites.
Recycled Content: Our diverse menu of recycled aggregate products can be utilized for a wide range of highway, building and construction projects. Our recycled material allows end users to qualify for LEED points.
